When Venakshi Sami first set out to buy a home, it felt like an impossible dream. With only a 5% deposit, the banks told her she’d need at least 10% before they would even consider her application.

“I couldn’t see any hope with my deposit,” says Venakshi. “The banks told me it wasn’t possible.”

That all changed when Venakshi received an email from MTF Mt Eden owner-operator Ishfaq Mohammed about their new mortgage broker services. Having already experienced excellent service with MTF for a personal loan, she was curious to see what might be possible.

The real turning point came when she connected with Sonia, MTF Mt Eden’s Business Development Manager.

“Sonia came in with such warmth and positivity – it gave me the confidence to restart my property search. She even introduced me to BNZ’s First Home Buyer Scheme, which I hadn’t known about before.”

With MTF Mt Eden’s support and guidance, the path cleared. Today, Venakshi proudly calls herself a homeowner.

“This is definitely a great achievement in my life. Creating a home for my family makes me proud.”

For Venakshi, this is more than bricks and mortar – it’s stability and belonging. One of the most meaningful parts of this milestone is knowing her young niece, who has autism, will one day have a permanent place to call home when she studies in New Zealand.

“Previously, we moved often with rentals and never felt settled. Now my niece will have a place she can always call home.”

Venakshi describes the service provided by Peter, Mohammed, and Sonia as nothing short of exceptional.

“The MTF team feels more like family. That’s why I’ve already recommended them to my friends.”
