About the role:
As a qualified Lending Specialist, you will provide expert financial advice and tailored lending solutions to our customers, ensuring their borrowing needs are met with exceptional customer service and top-tier service while adhering to service level agreements. This role involves assessing financial situations, guiding customers through the borrowing process, offering product information and financial advice, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The Lending Specialist is crucial in building and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring that all lending activities adhere to MTF's policies and regulatory requirements. This role will work with a range of financial products and lending solutions offered by MTF, including brokered products and services. Our mission is to be there when our customers need us, so these roles will be rostered to work six to seven days a week.

Just some of the things you’re responsible for:
- Assess and process loan applications end-to-end, making sound credit decisions in line with lending policies, service levels, and responsible lending requirements.
- Deliver timely, high-quality customer service by responding promptly to enquiries, providing clear updates, and supporting a positive customer experience.
- Provide accurate product information and financial guidance within scope, ensuring advice is compliant with legislation, conduct obligations, and MTF guidelines.
- Build strong knowledge of lending products, regulations, and risk requirements to achieve the best outcomes for customers and the business.
- Actively manage pending applications to improve loan-to-settlement conversion rates and overall performance.
- Collaborate effectively across the team, contribute to continuous improvement and transformation initiatives, and uphold all compliance, safety, and policy standards.
You’ll need to have:
- Previous experience in a lending role or a customer service role within the financial services industry (minimum 2 years' experience).
- New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services – Level 5 (desirable).
- Strong understanding of CCCFA and Anti-Money Laundering & Countering Financing of Terrorism rules and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability – this role requires a high level of accuracy as you are working with numeric information and data.
