BankStatements is a tool that we use to securely retrieve copies of your bank statements from your bank. Within minutes, it helps us understand your income and expenses, without needing to download or manually share statements.
BankStatements is provided by Experian, a trusted provider of credit and decisioning services used by thousands of lenders and brokers worldwide.
When you apply for a loan, we’ll ask BankStatements to send you a secure link to start the bank account information retrieval process. Once you receive the link, they will guide you through the process of logging into your internet banking system and retrieving the information we need to help make the lending decision.
This process can be done from your mobile phone, laptop or iPad and only takes a few minutes. If you need help with anything, we can guide you through the process. You will need your internet banking details as the system does not work with any mobile phone banking apps.
As responsible lenders we need to make sure you can afford the loan. To help us assess your financial position, we need to see your recent bank statements.
We take your privacy seriously and cannot access your online banking credentials. Your information is encrypted and securely transferred. Personal information we receive from BankStatements will only ever be used and stored for your loan application. We use anonymised transaction data - which does not identify you - to improve our products and services.
The connection with your bank is securely encrypted and your internet banking user ID and password are not stored. For peace of mind, you may change your password after using the tool.
For us to consider a loan, we need to understand your financial position. The BankStatements tool allows us to quickly, securely and easily retrieve this information from your bank. However, if you’d prefer, we can accept PDF or printed copies of your bank statements showing the last 90 days including borrower name, address and bank account number. We are unable to accept screenshots of your account.
