"The 2022 Redbull Romaniacs was as tough as I had been warned about.
Day one was qualifying. Racing bar to bar through the streets of Sibiu with some wild features to navigate over. This set the starting position for the four days off-road in the Carpathian Mountains.
The next four days were tough. The 4.30 am breakfasts had the body worried about what was ahead.
Leaving the Redbull arch at sunrise following the GPS mounted to my handlebars I headed into the mountains with anticipation for how crazy it was about to get. These were some big days on the bike. A minimum of five hours riding time a day made any other event I had done seem not so bad.
By day five the long, hot days had taken a toll. I was pretty beat up, and it was survival mode to the finish. It was an incredible feeling to cross the finish line, this was nothing you could compare to anywhere else in the world. The scenery was incredible, as was the riding. Thank you MTF Finance Nelson for all the support!"
